Project Description

Mint Museum Uptown (Levine Center for the Arts) is located in Charlotte, NC. This 165,000 SF new museum is the 35th-largest accredited museum in the nation, including exhibition, educational, administrative and support space to display and store collections of American, European, Contemporary Art and Craft + Design collections. There are four passenger elevators, one service elevator and one freight elevator, four levels of stacked escalators, pre-finished wood ceilings, hardwood flooring and a 240-seat auditorium and a museum shop. The museum includes a computer system for children to create digital art, displayed on a 20-foot by 37-foot LED screen on the exterior of the Knight Theater for viewing from the street. Spectrum provided the metal framing, drywall, acoustical ceilings and wood ceilings.
